Here’s everything you need to know about how billing works at Goodland!
Do you accept insurance?
No. Goodland is an out-of-network practice for all insurance plans. We do not bill or contract with insurance companies. All appointments are cash pay appointments.
The only exception is that we submit claims to Medicare Part B as a courtesy for our Medicare patients.
What if I have private insurance, Medicaid, or a supplemental plan?
We are not in-network with any of these plans and do not submit claims to them.
However, upon request we can provide a superbill, which includes:
CPT/billing codes
Diagnosis codes
Provider information
Dates of service
You may use the superbill to submit for possible reimbursement with your plan.
What’s the Difference Between a Superbill and a Receipt?
Receipt:
A receipt is a simple proof of payment. It shows:
The service you received
The amount you paid
The date of service
Receipts are for your personal records, tax purposes, or HSAs/FSAs.
Receipts do not include the information needed to submit an insurance claim.
Superbill:
A superbill is a specialized medical billing document that contains all the details an insurance company requires for processing a claim.
A superbill includes:
Provider information
ICD-10 diagnosis codes
CPT/billing codes
Date(s) of service
Fees for each service
Patients use superbills to submit their own out-of-network claims to their insurance company for potential reimbursement.
Do you submit claims for Medicare Advantage?
No. We do not submit claims for Medicare Advantage plans.
Currently, we are not aware of any chiropractors in our area who are considered in-network for Medicare Advantage. Patients with these plans typically pay out of pocket for chiropractic care.
What does Medicare Part B actually cover?
Medicare’s chiropractic coverage is limited to spinal adjustments for active treatment.
It does not cover additional therapeutic services. If you have a supplemental plan, it may offer additional reimbursement, but coverage varies by plan and is determined case by case.
What services are not covered by Medicare?
These services are self-pay:
Massage therapy
Myofascial work
Exams
Functional movement sessions
Foot soaks
Ear candling
Reiki
Any non-adjustment service
Tip: We offer package pricing for massage and myofascial sessions to help reduce costs.
